First Dance

Tip number one, don’t panic. And remember we are here to help and we have done this literally thousands of times. And in the unlikely event we don’t know the song you eventually pick, we will learn it and play it as if we’ve been doing it for years.
There are some key things to consider when choosing your song but the first point to remember is, there really is no right or wrong choice here. If you choose an obvious song that’s been done to death, well so have loads of other people. And, on the other hand, if you choose an odd-ball song that nobody’s ever heard of, well good for you.
Pointers and key things to consider:
1. A song with a bit of fun to it will put a smile on people’s faces and help to create a fun atmosphere from the start that will carry through the night.
2. Despite what’s written above, a song that is well known and well liked will stand a much better chance of engaging your guests; they may well even clap and sing along.
3. A classic that has had some recent revival will tend to resonate across the generations.
4. Try to avoid the temptation of going with the option of playing an mp3 of the original song when you have a perfectly capable band standing on the stage that you have paid for. Although it is often done, we feel it is a big compromise.
5. Again, there is no right or wrong here. The decision to go with a song that you feel says something about you as a couple will trump any advice we can give every time.

Here is a list of some songs we have done in the past that we feel worked very well.
